04/08: Sick Orphanages
As I was reading the case of this boy who committed some sort of crime, he was sent to St. Michaels home for boys and he begged the judge not to send him there because the older boys force the younger ones to drink their urine.
Orphanages are a nightmare in Trinidad where kids are physically, sexually and psychologically abused. They are understaffed and a government and laws that do little to help the less fortunate.
Now with a rising inflation people will adopt even less and these kids will be forced to stay in these crowded places forever. What sad state of affairs when a country doesn't give a damn about children and then they wonder why so many young people turn into a life of crime? FOOLS!
