Today wasn't a good day at all. I felt angry most of the day and often wonder if God is punishing me by letting me to live in this country I cannot longer tolerate. Don't come with your stupidity telling me how great Trinidad and Tobago is and you're live thousands of miles away enjoying your North American or European lifestyle! If is so great, then COME AND LIVE HERE otherwise just shut up! You're making yourself look like a fool.

Crime is at the worst case I have ever seen, 70% increase from last year. Basic things like health institutions are a problem, dirtiness all over the place, and people who are just so laid back and wont mind to eat a mango for dinner and try to pick another one for lunch tomorrow. I'm at the top of my stress right now. I spend most of my days inside my place because I cannot longer tolerate "socializing" with a group of people I am just NOT interested.

I cannot wait to get out of here and as every minute passes it's torture eating me inside. How in the world did I end up here!?? Don't ask. I don't even know.

I was reading an Express article about teenage kids who run away. This is a problem few people consider "big". I have talked with many of these kids myself and some of the stories seem to come out from a horror movie. Literally.

1. A lot of them are living in a house where mom, dad or stepdad physically and sexually abuses them.

2. A lot of them are victims of rape by an older sibling with full acknowledgment of the parents.

3. A lot of them come from school to an empty house where both parents are working.

4. Boys are not taught to respect the opposite sex.

And the list goes on...but the strongest point is INCEST. Trinidadians live hiding their heads in the sand, but it's a HUGE problem in the island and few people dare to talk about it. These kids end up being depressed, smoking, using drugs, cutting themselves and yes...running away. I have seen it with my own eyes and I have seen the absolute lack of interest in the so called "mothers" of these children.

In a society where people abuse children in this manner tells us a lot about the quality of its citizens.

My electricity went off for like an hour and this reminded me in what a primitive country I live where water and electricity go off so often but we are talking about the Vision 20/20! It's sickening when I think about it.

I am feeling so depressed at the moment to be living here, I don't even know if living is the correct word but surviving seem to be a better term. The whole place is dirty, nobody to socialize with and overall a disgusting place where people just want to know about your business or be at your home 24/7. Trinis don't know the meaning of the word "MANNERS".

On top of that, making business here is a pain in your behind. Trinis don't want to pay for services! But they don't mind to spend thousands in a ticket to see Machel Montano for an evening. This is the kind of mentality I just cannot stand and try my best to keep to myself.

Oh how I wish to be out of here as soon as possible!

As I was reading the case of this boy who committed some sort of crime, he was sent to St. Michaels home for boys and he begged the judge not to send him there because the older boys force the younger ones to drink their urine.

Orphanages are a nightmare in Trinidad where kids are physically, sexually and psychologically abused. They are understaffed and a government and laws that do little to help the less fortunate.

Now with a rising inflation people will adopt even less and these kids will be forced to stay in these crowded places forever. What sad state of affairs when a country doesn't give a damn about children and then they wonder why so many young people turn into a life of crime? FOOLS!

I wonder how really this system works. Manning's son is getting a house in Santa Margarita and they ask an income of $30,000TT. How many folks in Trinidad make that kind of money? And if they do, how many of them would apply for government housing?

An average house in Trinidad right now cost over a million dollars, no fancy house and no fancy area. If you're lucky enough to have relatives then probably you're living by your granny or auntie and uncle or your parents still. If you don't, then you're taking the pressure of paying a monthly rent along with a HUGE food bill that brings less food every single month.

When is the madness going to stop? When is Manning going to stop saying Trinidad and Tobago is doing well? I guess for a wealthy man like him, things are surely prospering in the land but for the average Joe things couldn't be harder.

Pride is a killer.
