As I was looking at the smiling picture of the woman who gave birth to baby Joshua and abandoned him in an old washing machine where tons of ants were crawling all over his tiny little body, I couldn't help it but feel disgusted at this demon in human form. Her act is not only sickening but the fact that this ignorant woman would actually think is remotely "funny" to appear in court and even posed for the cameras with a big smile on her face is absolutely despicable.

Then I read that social workers are working on this case and evaluating if they would place the baby in the care of this woman's mother. Imagine, this old woman said from day one that she doesn't want the baby and police officers as well as nurses tried to convinced her to change her mind which she did but WHY, WHY would the police and nurses try to convince a woman who clearly does not want the child! What is even more puzzling is the fact that there were three other people (including a childless couple) who wanted to adopt this child!

Is it that the pain and abuse this baby went through wasn't enough that we have to place him in the same house of the woman who abandoned him? Is it that this country don't give a damn thing about children? Why don't we have in place a system like Children Protective Services? Is this the vision 20/20?

The mother of this baby is out of jail now (bond) and where do you all think she will be living? Yes, in the same house with her mother that will probably get custody of that baby. Is this country NUTS? I am quite sure that baby will end up being abused since he was not loved from the day he was conceived.

Some women just need to be sterilized, they shouldn't be allowed to procreate.

Keep smiling Deandra Mamchan, there may not exist justice in Trinidad and Tobago but a bigger Justice (with capital J) awaits you.

Sometimes when I read the newspaper I have a good laugh at some of the things they post as "News". In the Newsday, appeared an article about Trini men shirking fatherhood responsibilities. What is new about that? If you are a native of this land or a foreigner like me living here for a long time, you will know that the amount of homes without the presence of a father is big. As a matter of fact, I believe one of the main reasons to blame for the behavior of our youth today is the lack of a father figure at home. The mothers are too busy working to provide for their kids and the so called "men" are just not there but spreading their sperm all around and creating unwanted babies who will end up suffering.

Now before you tell me that it takes two to tango, I will agree that some Trini women have little or no respect at all for themselves, low self-esteem and they look for "love" in all the wrong places and ways BUT I will focus on the men today.

Trini men just like women....okay, what do you mean you may ask? Simply: They like women of all races, ethnicities AND sizes. They turn their heads for the blonde, "Bay Watch style" American tourist as well as for the overweight or "thick" local woman. May I add that 11 years old little girls and pregnant women are also included? The most pathetic thing is when they stare at you and even sweet-talk to you with their wives at their side! And yes, the woman ends up looking at YOU bad like it is your fault that their husband is a sick and disgusting rat! Some women in T&T need a reality check!

Why Trini men cannot keep their pants on? Some good reasons:

I was reading yesterday an article in the Trinidad Express Newspaper about how much are pies costing these days, imagine $5TT!. This is not a surprise really, taking into consideration the high inflation the country is going through, what it sickens me is the attitude of the people. They STILL line up and buy the pies anyways! Even though it seems they cannot be more idiotic than that, they say "they will continue buying even if they raise their prices", but what the jail is this? Can Trinis be more stupid than this or are they just A BUNCH OF FOOLS who are only concerned about having their bellies full?

It wasn't long ago when in France they raised the price of potatoes for a few cents. The French people refused to buy them and the potatoes were literally spoiling until they had no choice but to lower the price! Why do Trinidadians do the EXACT opposite? They go and buy MORE of a product with the ignorant rationalization that "may raise next week, so let me buy it now". Truly, when I observe this people I wonder if they have brains or they were born brainless.

I stopped purchasing certain items because I REFUSE to be taken advantage this way. Do you think I could be so stupid as to buy a double for $5? You have to be fricking kidding me! Look at KFC and how much they raised their prices and Trinis STILL lining up and buying without NO COMPLAINTS whatsoever. Yeah, because Trinis cannot live without their fried chicken. Tomorrow they may say a snack box will cost $50 and they will STILL buying. What a bunch of fools! The funny thing is if you try to reason with them, they just don't get it. You see, they are...

I wanted to start a blog for a long time, particularly about my views on the things going on here in Trinidad and Tobago. My views may be perceived as blunt and controversial for some individuals who probably live in denial so if you are over-sensitive and thin-skinned, then my blog is definitely not the place for you.

I don't sugar-coat anything I say, and I don't keep anything back. So if the truth for you is too hard to be taken, too bad. You are free to leave, you do not live by my opinions and I don't live by yours.

I have traveled and lived in other countries around the world and at the present I am living in Trinidad, a little island in the Caribbean Sea near Venezuela. Nothing to be too impressed about, this is definitely not Paradise as most Trinidadians try to portrait, but I will talk about all those things on this blog.

One of the things I feel more passionate about is to observe people. I like to study them, I like to observe how they move, talk, eat, how they react to certain situations, how they lie through their teeth and how little respect sometimes they have for themselves and others. All these things show their true colors.

But don't let me start with my rants. I am MadameX and I am your host of "The Bacchanalist". Stay tuned because real Bacchanal is just about to start...
